Kick sledding
The kicksled is a small sled consisting of a chair mounted on a pair of flexible metal runners which extend backward to about twice the chair’s length. The sled is propelled by kicking. “Kicksled” is a direct translation of the Finnish word “potkukelkka”. The first definite record of a kicksled was in a newspaper in northern Sweden around 1870.

Nowadays the kicksleds are still in common use in NorwaySweden and Finland, especially in countryside where roads are not sanded or salted.

Sliding down the hill
Sliding is a worldwide winter activity. In Winter World we use traditional Finnish plastic discs to slide down. So legs up, lean back, go!
