Amazing day at Lapland Winter World
World made from ice, place that will overrate your expectations. It is amazing place to visit together with your friends and family. Lapland winter world was amazing experience for us. There are igloos made from ice, ice glasses and shot of vodka, skiing, bump sliding, dog sliding, Santa photo stop. Also there is place for kids to play, nice coffee bar, restaurant, park and amazing staff. We had great day and we recommend this place.

Amazing staff
We had to get here by ourselfs after our organised trip was cancelled when our cruise ship was late arriving in Helsinki. So we hopped in a cab and arrived unannounced, the staff where so friendly and helpful and although they where about to close (as the scheduled cruise ship tours had cancelled, and the huskies had already left), we still enjoyed our visit, and we had the whole place to ourselves!!! Well done to the staff, and thank you very much for allowing us to enjoy this amazing place.

A great experience
We visited Helsinki about a week ago as part of our Viking Ocean cruise. The excursion was to Winter World for a visit to the ice bar. We were given warm snow suits, boots, and gloves. It was amazing. We also took a sleigh ride with huskies. That was some ride! It was a tremendous fun. My husband had a delicious cinnamon bun and coffee, and they have a wonderful little gift shop.

Experience of a lifetime
Oh we just loved every minute of this. The ice bar and Whisky is so good. A highlight and must do is the Husky dogs sledge ride in the snow! A visit inside an Igloo also very interesting! Definitely a must when you go to Helsinki.

Fantastic, visited here on our cruise around the Baltic, would highly recommend. Drink at bar, huskey ride, plenty to see, fabulous ice statues, amazing place, would love to visit again.

Icy Blast!
What fun!
Loved the husky sled ride, the skiing and kick-sledding! And the ‘icing’ on the top was the vodka in an ice glass at the Ice Bar in the Igloo Hotel. We were wisely advised to ’embrace the child within’, and the letting go just made the experience that much better. I was a little disappointed, though, that the snow wasn’t soft enough to make good snow angels, but it was great for skiing on!

Nice place in Helsinki
A place to visit and try the winter activities with friends or family. You can also call there and order an event for you and your company. Very friendly service and peaceful environment for tourists.

Vodka in the morning
When you first arrive you get the impression that you have arrived at some sort of sports or leisure centre. The bar itself is not exactly on any street in Helsinki but is in fact housed in a gigantic refrigerator in this leisure centre.
On arrival you are kitted out in your funky blue protective suit, gloves and boots. When you enter the bar you are greeted by the friendly staff stood behind a bar made entirely out of ice, who offer you a local vodka or soft drink served in a shot glass also made from ice. In fact everything – the bar, the chairs and the tables are made from ice.
As well as the bar there are several unique and fascinating ice sculptures around the place, a ice hotel with ice beds, and fun activities such as sledging and skiing (albeit in a limited space). There is even a Santa’s grotto for the little ones. For €20 you can have a ride on a toboggan pulled by huskies. Basically it just goes round a circuit twice, but it’s good fun nonetheless.
If you are doing this as part of a cruise excursion (like I did) you might find that you get there early i.e. before 9am, and you may have certain reservations about drinking so early. All I will say is – just go with the flow and enjoy yourself. You are only given a small shot of vodka not excessive amounts plus there are soft drinks available. Also don’t let the fact that its cold put you off. After a while you get used to the cold environment, and you are free to leave and return when you want.
